A couple of questions. Just what are basic needs? And, if racist Rhodesia was the model of internally oriented development, how well off was the black population, and what was the trend in their welfare? Were they healthy and literate, and getting moreso? Or did it just have enough juice to pamper the white minority, the rest be damend?
