Friends,

WBAI's *Building Bridges* co-host Ken Nash was on the air today, when his show was interrupted by WBAI's interim general manager Utrice Leid. Obviously agitated by the content of Nash's program (at that moment Nash was interviewing Congressman Major Owens about WBAI and Nash's co-host Mimi Rosenberg), Leid came into the master broadcast studio and tried to take over the mic. There were 2 cuts to music, between which time Nash tried to keep control of his program. After the second long music break, Leid came back on and Nash was gone.

Leid took questions for the rest of the hour after offering an editorial which attempted to refute what Nash and Owens had just broadcast. She stated that the information broadcast by Nash and Owens was untrue. She appeared to use this as a justification for taking over the program. In response to one caller, Leid also tried to redefine Mumia Abu-Jamal's support of the struggle to save WBAI.

Nash's co-host Mimi Rosenberg, was fired and banned recently after being on the air at WBAI for nearly 32 years.

A complete report on the fate of Building Bridges as well as the audio file will be forthcoming. We also hope to get a transcript of today's program.
