Jury Duty

Don't know why you have so much trouble. The last time I was on a jury
was in 1967 -- a widow suing an insurance company for her late husband's
life insurance. Company had obviously hastened to write the policy, then
tried to wiggle out of paying. Since then no one wants me. Once I was on
a panel -- a sanitation worker suing the City for an on-the-job injury.
I think it's that I'm a social worker. Once, when I was still a child
protective worker, I tried to modulate my image, portraying myself as a
sort of agent of law enforcement, but a feeling one. They still got rid
of me. I think I only confused them. The judge looked bemused too. He
was the same horrible guy that presided in the Panther 21 trial.
