It may not be such a good thing. Bubbas who populated these groups have not disappeared from the face of the Earth - in all likelihood they went back to the Republican Party where they are far more dangerous than in the woods.

CB: Your factual claim would have to be tested.

Although some of the militia members might vote Republican, how many votes is that ? I'm not sure it would make a difference in many elections. Outstate ( outside of Wayne County) Michigan is already sending Republican majorities to state offices, for example. Bush lost Michigan despite whatever militia votes. The Senate seat switched from Republican to Democrat this last time, despite whatever tiny % militia votes.
