Archived Forever

Recently I joked around with Doug about Usenet archives at 
Google.com.  Right now I'm writing an article about the issue. Aside from 
the incident where Katha Pollit's posts here were used in Mugger's column 
in the NYPress, does anyone else know of someone using archived posts on a 
discussion list or Usenet as a way to embarrass or discredit someone 
well-known or semi-well-known?  Or maybe you have your own story about this 
happening and are willing to share, offlist. if you're willing, I'll use 
it, but anonymize you and any other compromising information.
