Re "Space Merchants": Yes, Pohl and Kornbluth, apparently. There also seems 
to be a sequel called "Venus Inc.: Merchants War."

"Space Merchants" appears to be in print but hard to obtain. Here's the

Pohl & Kornbluth? My memory has faded, I know I read that back when I was
about 16 (i.e early 70s). Bet I'd get more out of it now...!
