Re "Space Merchants": Yes, Pohl and Kornbluth, apparently. There also seems to be a sequel called "Venus Inc.: Merchants War."

"Space Merchants" appears to be in print but hard to obtain. Here's the search results at the (union shop) Powell's Books:
