I'm not easily offended, although I'll readily admit that I'm quick to dismiss those who continually varnish self-righteousness with an unbecomingly folksy veneer.

The tone and content of Art's posts show that he doesn't really want to be engaged. Remember the exchange on black nationalism a few months ago? The man seemed unwilling to accept anything less than complete capitulation.

You're jumping to groundless conclusions.

That's exactly the sort of behavior I think Art's engaged in here.

You don't have to tell me (or anyone else on this list, I would suspect) that real or perceived inequalities can lead to a great deal of anger and resentment. That doesn't mean the byproducts of that anger and resentment necessarily cry out for a thorough systematic analysis.
