It's always rogue operatives. Just like it was when Cuomo ran against Koch in the late 70s, and the sound trucks went around Queens blaring "Vote for Cuomo not the homo!" And just like it was rogues in the Bush campaign who gave us Willie Horton.

The great progressive Green had almost nothing to say about the biggest problem facing NYC right now - a $4-6 billion hole in the budget, 10-15% of the total. It wasn't even a campaign issue.
