. . . It's always rogue operatives. Just like it was when Cuomo ran against 
Koch in the late 70s, and the sound trucks went around Queens blaring 
"Vote for Cuomo not the homo!" And just like it was rogues in the 
Bush campaign who gave us Willie Horton.

My own source on this distant historical episode told me that Cuomo
was responding in kind to previous Koch campaign intimations
of Mafia ties.
