Then you're viewing polygamy as a cultural practice that has to do with sex partners. do you actually know anything about polygamy in SA?

last I knew, you were an American.

the problem with anti-americanism is that you are engaging in a facile cultural reductionism.

good for you. i was complaining about how "american" you are insofar as you exhibit a typical US tendency to avoid actually reading something and asking questions and then asnwering them before shooting from the hip to make some assinine denunciation of it. As Doug pointed out, the company that sponsored the research isn't even "American" and I pointed out that plenty of "silly" sex research is done in other countries. Hence, my complaint about your idealist cultural reductionism and latent sexism attitudes about what counts as 'real' issue or topic of interest/concern.)

From the YeahSureRightFW Dept: "If young women go for older men and vice-versa, who cares? The problem is the asymmetries in wealth and power between individuals which make one person more dependent on/vulnerable to the other, usually the woman. If we could eliminate class, innumerable social problems would be solved virtually overnight."
