"Hate America" Left

What would Alterman say to the former ambassador to Iraq under Reagan who criticized Bush's war because it fails to address the problem of who hates the US and why? Note that the patriotism of those on the right who question US foreign policy is rarely or never called into question. But when a leftie dares to do so, then patriotism becomes an issue. Interesting double standard here. Also note the transparently political character of the new 'war'. The press briefings on the connectoin between terrorism and the Sandinistas is about all one needs to hear to recognise the transparent links between US foreign policy and the problem of terrorism, or I should say what gets defined as terrorism and doesn't.
