Any organizer gives an immense amount of time thinking about public opinion, but she does that in terms of the _direction_ she wants public opinion to move, and determination of that direction has to be prior to and independent of superficial indications of current public opinion. What you are describing is either a false description of your own actual views or it is just plain juvenile rather than vulgar.
