No. It's gotten very confusing, especially down in the office neighborhood, which is across from the INS detention center at 201 Varick St, which is supposedly where lots of terrorist suspects are taken for questioning. Streets on both sides of the federal building are shut, guarded by cops, and there are cops in the subway station below. Cops everywhere, including some borrowed from Nassau County and Wayne County, Michigan. But with every other pedestrian wearing an NYPD hat, you feel like you're living in an occupied zone.
