they also flew a plane into the pentagon and clearly intended to send another one into the pentagon, perhaps the white house. this act was an act of war and intended to be read as such. when someone goes after your military machine, it's kind of difficult not to respond in some way. shit, most of us on a list can't sit back and not response when someone says something about us that pushes one of our major buttons.

of course, typical disclaimer: i'm anti war and have laid out my position here already. i condemn the bombings, it's disgusting.

my point in reiterating the issue above is that i think we ought to take it seriously instead of dismissing it. it's hardly a winning position with people who might climb on board an anti-war movement: we look like idiots to not recognize this as a serious attack on the US by, perhaps, a rather unsavory social movement.
