This is what I fear -- but I really don't know how malleable that outrage is. Can the governors _use_ it without becoming captive to it? And if the U.S. rulers are minimally sensible -- and to be minimally sensible is in effect to do almost nothing outside a few symbolic gestures and a handful of killings of those ('guilty' or not) easiest to get at -- what will the public responseS be. That upper case S is crucial. There is no "Public" [singular], and the hope of the left is that one of those publics (10% or more of the population) will rally to (or at least passively approve of) left positions.
