Beyond his political poses for temporary alliances, Peres's attitude has been pretty much the Peace Now line for the last 15 years. He'd allow a Palestinian State up to but not bigger than 1967 borders, and would probably be willing to uproot settlements if he had to, but he would never consider the right of return (maybe partial monetary compensation and "visitation rights", but that's it). Obviously, he'd pull Barak-like tactics in negotiations and try to secure some of the West Bank if possible, at least as a bargaining chip. Still, the ultimate incompatibility between his disposition and Sharon's should be obvious, even if neither tackles the Nakba and Zionist self-criticism in the way any of us would like.
