Truth about patriotism

A long time ago a read a story about how US POW's in the Korean war were
subjected to a lot of propoganda. By the end of the war, those soldiers who
were the most patriotic and claimed to love their country the most before
becoming POW's, were the ones who were most likely to be taken in by the
Chinese propoganda. Does anyone else on the LBO list know about this and if
so are their any sources I can check out?
