US Ops Underway in Iraq

although i posted the original message, i would agree with what you say, Michael. debka has a penchant for creative writing. other than whip up a climate for war, i'm not sure what their motivation would be in writing what they wrote. i guess misery loves company. it's a hell of a trial balloon.

i found their scenario overblown. there are times when they are accurate, however. or like most "good" propaganda, a little truth is mixed with a lot of fiction. debka is a mixed bag.

what struck me about their story was the likelihood that if and when the war comes, it will be presented to the US public as a fait accompli, after it's started. all the talk about congress, or anyone else, having a role to play is pure nonsense. the debka version, possibly fictional at the moment, is certainly close to many people's fantasies about how the disaster will go down. whether or not the story of the invasion follows debka's format, there is some truth in its narrative.

it's clear the "business managers" of the shrub group are doing to the US what they did to their private corporations -- running it into the ground and not looking back.
