On Sept. 5 and 6 the State Department will host a high-powered conference on anti-Americanism, an unusual step indicating the depth of American concern about this increasingly globalized phenomenon...
-----------
What concern? And such un-interesting arrogance to presume that something is wrong with the rest of the world community, when:
1. the US tries to bully the UN for immunity before the Hague and other international tribunals, then failing that;
2. enacts the Hague Invasion Act, which withdraws US assistance from any country that does sign the ICC treaty;
3. renounces its own convention signatures, while pursuing a preferred list of war criminals, then:
4. engages in war crimes by ignoring the Geneva Conventions on treatment of POWs as a matter of stated policy;
5. while boosting arms sales to Israel in violation of its own State Dept and UN regulations against use of such weapons on occupied civilian populations;
6. threatens preemptive war on Iraq and ad hoc military adventures any where it chooses;
7. pursues international lawsuits under WTO over AIDS drugs, while millions suffer and die, then erects protection tariffs on steel;
8. pushes McDonald's trick-or-treat promotion with UNICEF while refusing to sign UNHCHR Convention on the Rights of the Child---specifically reserving the right to execute minors;
9. refuses to attend the UN Johannesburg Earth Summit;
10. refuses to sign the Kyoto Accords;
11. and, ...and I have just forgotten the rest the bullshit.
Why would any other country attend such a conference merely to be lectured on their bad attitudes by the criminals in US State Dept and an un-elected War Lord?
