Well for a Canadian it's impolite. If you get a chance see 'Canadian Bacon', most Americans don't get the jokes ('Boy this beer sucks', Bilingual graffitti on a truck, people being stepped on and saying 'excuse me', 'I don't know what you're talking aboot'), but it's considered by many a Canadian classic.

Definitely ice hockey! Maybe street hockey too (game on!) Only school girls and Englishmen play field hockey. And you don't have to beat white guys up all that well, just frequently.
