" 'Any use of tobacco in the movies promotes tobacco use among kids,' says Glantz, who has taken out ads in the Hollywood trades urging 'R' ratings for films containing smoking. 'Cigarette advertising portrays smoking as a stress reliever, so showing people smoking in a stressful situation reinforces the industry message.' "
Actually, I've found tobacco to be quite good at taking the edge off; and while it's not as serene as Buddhist meditation, it has its tasty merits as well.
