Re: Robert Nozick. Briefly a member of the Student League for Industrial Democracy, in the late 50's. Read that in an article somewhere long ago about a class Nozick co-taught with Michael Walzer on Egalitarianism. SLID, was the org. that SDS became. See, SDS, by Kirkpatrick Sale, Democracy Is In the Streets by James Miller and Maurice Issrman's book on the emergence of the New Left out of the Old.
Other members of SLID in the 50's> Gabriel Kolko, Andre Schiffrin (sic. the publisher in chief of the new Press) and, ahem, Bernie Cornfeld, some scamster in the early 70's. Oh, and another member, Jude Wanniski, for a few months. See the book on neo-connery from Sidney Blumenthal, 1984 presidentail campaign correspondent for In These Times and editor of a hard to find book from 1976 on the JFK assasination. His enmemies call him "Grassy Knoll Blumenthal" Michael Pugliese
