For those working on 4th of July Stories . . .
A survey directed by J. Timmons Roberts, professor of sociology at the College of William and Mary found:
* 3 out of 4 Americans (74%, 213 million) have been flying the flag at their home or on their car since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks
* 75% of working Americans who have felt increased risk and/or fear from terrorism at their work say they use signs of patriotism as their main method of coping
* No appreciable difference on flag flying based on region, religion, gender or race
The survey was a national, random polling of 399 U.S. households. Telephone numbers were randomly selected by the sampling firm Genesys of San Francisco, Calif.
