cops and beatings

I don't think it's anyones job to decide who 'deserves' to be beaten. I find the concept that anyone deserves to be beaten by the state bizarre. Prosecutors work WITH cops to control people. Their jobs are connected. Very much birds of a feather flocking together I should think. I wouldn't think cops beat people for smoking pot but rather for not genuflecting at the altar of the power the cop perceives he has. It's an "I will control you by force" mentality. Minorities get beaten more because they have less power and are easier to victimize. John Thornton
