Oh, I'm not indulging in false heroics. I think it sucks, it's merely exploitative, and a general drag. They do pay us lots though. It's intermittently necessary, but not nearly as much as it's practiced. And I have no illusions about the nature of the work, which largely consists in defending predators against (at the least noxious) other predators, and (at its worst) predators against prey or against shepherds.
