I don't defend myself and set the record straight about what I say and do on when Mine baits me on marxmail; I don't do that either here when DP, KW, Mpu, etc. throw flames in my direction. Nor do I expect you & Lou to set the record straight. I believe the record of what I say and do speaks for itself, and so does that of what you and Liza say and do. Let thinking persons judge them for themselves.
I simply take care not to say anything on the Net that I wouldn't say off the Net. I believe it's a poor tactic and waste of time to say, "No, I'm not that," "No, I didn't say that," "No, I didn't do that," etc., unless it's an attempt to correct simple miscommunication. The more you issue denials, the dumber you look.
The Net is a much more pleasant space to dwell in when you use it mainly to network with people you want to chat or work with, learn from some improbably learned people you do encounter occasionally, receive help and support from fellow leftists in far-flung places for what you are doing locally, etc. -- Yoshie
