Can't remember, but Red Rudi sounds right. Can't find an authoritative source, though.

In the 80s, the phrase used to be triumphantly cited by Commentary magazine right-wingers as justification for their assaults on the universities, main-line churches, museums, and other cultural institutions. Full of subversive moles.
