Wojtek is speaking for the increasingly common view among liberals that the rule of law is a luxury that is now something we cannot afford; we need a dictatorship to keep us safe. They are confident that the arbitrary power will not be used on them or people like them. In Wojtek's case, given his particvipation on a left list, the confidence is probably unjustified. Wojtek's hope is that the left is so laughably powerless that it will not come to the unwanted attention of our masters. I am not so optimistic.
