Russian Communist Party would get 29% of votes in elections - Poll

MOSCOW. June 19 (Interfax) - If elections to the State Duma were held next Sunday, the Russian Communist Party would get 29% of the vote, 25% of the electorate would cast their ballots for the Unified Russia party led by Sergei Shoigu and Yuri Luzhkov, and the Liberal Democratic Party led by Vladimir Zhirinovsky would get 9%.

Following the three leaders are the Union of Right Forces (SPS) led by Boris Nemtsov (8%), the Women of Russia by Alevtina Fedulova (7%), and Yabloko by Grigory Yavlinsky (6%).

Interfax on Wednesday obtained this information from the All- Russian Public Opinion Survey Center (VTsIOM), which derived it from a representative poll of 1,600 Russians conducted on June 14-17.
