kelley says that you dont know jack if you are new to the list and therefore this debate. ;-) i wonder if its the other way around - that all this history has made a simple issue into one of debates about extreme paranoia vs simple changes, and who has been programming the longest! without getting into technical details, it seems clear that once you do start posting to any kind of semi-public forum, your identity is trackable. and if that gets difficult, then there is my next start-up: join mailing lists, start harvesting addresses, identities, political views, match them all up and provide such information to the corporations which all of you say are so eager to find out (and i am not contesting that they are). on the other hand, to my dismay, i agree with the always angry mr.budge, that often some small changes will go a long way - long enough for now. and in the long run we are all dead, so who cares?

my worthless 2c on the matter! <flame suit on>!

to the folks on the paranoid (and i use the word lovingly, so dont jump on me next ;-)) end of this debate, the real reason for my post: do you know anything about when google expires its cache of a web page?
