And? Philosophers are in no position to dictate to anyone. They have, at best, mastery overa certain literature and a breadth of vision that one misses at the level of doing scientific work proper. They translate and interpret the meaning of those results for wider audiences of nonspecialists in the particular disciplines. Locke called them "underlaborers" whose job was to clear out some of the brush. Course some of them are queens too, but that's also just fine.
