I'll never forget, back in the early eighties(?) going to see
"Ghostbusters" and getting this really creepy feeling that things were
about to change for the way worst. Do you guys remember that movie? A team
of university smart alecs invent a machine for cleaning up "ghosts" -- (the
end of history). The villain of the movie is the EPA!!!! In the first
scene, the character played by Murray is adminstering a psychology test in
which the subject gets a small electric shock if he answers wrong: the
pretty girl (who gets everything wrong) gets no shock; a male student (who
gets the answers right) gets shocked. Everyone in the audience thought this
was funny.
I had a similar moment watching "The Company of Men" -- a movie that made
me want to throw up or get very drunk, but which captured the 90's to a T.
Sigh,
