This little spin-cycle has always sounded utterly ridiculous to me. You got a country saturated with CIA-types and their Arab cohorts. You got lot's of new oil about to come on-line. You got pipe-line dreams, Pakistani nightmares, failed Soviet aspirations and Osama bin Laden. Yeah. I'm sure the US simply withdrew from Afghanistan and forgot about it for a decade. All those Afghan intelligence specialists simply retired in mass Uh-huh. ps. Thanks Yoshie for those infuriating and heart-breaking stories of what life is like for the people of Afghanistan. The Wahabbis or whatever they're called, could never build such a school for future anti-American martyrs as this administration has built.
