> "What a moron," the papers quoted the official as telling Canadian

Or as Bugs Bunny used to say, "What a maroon."
> A Chretien spokesman in Ottawa declined to comment on the reports,

Now, just to double check here with our Canadian contingent: Allan Rock is usually considered the leftward-most of the guys currently battling to succeed Chretien as head of the Liberal Party, right? With former finance minister Paul Martin being the main champion of the right, and a couple of others distributed between them? So his contribution to keeping this particular fire going under Chretien when the US doesn't seem disposed to take offense is mainly an expression of arcane intra-party politics, right?
