Yes, and abortion is provided free by the state. Also, there's a social pressure against buying contraceptives going back to the Soviet days, when sex for pleasure wasn't exactly smiled on, and there's the presumption that if you're buying condoms you must be cheating on your spouse or something. The statistically average Russian women has about seven abortions duting her lifetime.
