BANGKOK: Ministers from Asia's top rice exporters said on Wednesday they had agreed to establish for the first time an international organisation to try to stabilise volatile world prices.
Ministers from Thailand, Vietnam, India, Pakistan and China -- which together account for 65 per cent of the world's 25 million tonnes of rice exports -- said after meeting in Bangkok that they wanted to tip the balance in price negotiations in favour of exporters.
