Unlike illogical men on the left who consider fetuses to be babies, anti-abortion right-wingers have a more logical position. They argue that what is going on today is genocide. For the last couple of days, the Ohio State University main campus was visited by anti-abortion activists for the "Center for Bio-Ethical Reform," which brought and set up a giant traveling exhibit called "the Genocide Awareness Project" on the OSU oval -- see it at <http://www.abortionno.org/>. Apparently very well funded, the exhibit featured huge glossy photos -- take a look at them at <http://www.abortionno.org/gap_signs.html>.

What's going on in the USA should be indeed considered genocide -- 1.3 million women aborting fetuses per year, an estimated 43% of women having at least one abortion by the time they are 45 years old -- *if* a fetus were to be considered a baby. What should people do in response to genocide? (1) Recommend sex education, contraception, adoption, public assistance for indigent mothers, etc.? (2) Or make abortion a crime and/or take up arms against abortion providers and women who have abortion, as some on the right have tried to do (and succeeded in killing some abortion providers)? Those who argue for (1) while arguing that a fetus is a baby cheapen the meanings of the words murder and genocide, by condoning those who commit them. -- Yoshie
