Please give an example of where this is true (i.e., those who imply that "the enemy of enemy = friend"). Is substantive context your "friend"?

Poor? The U.S. gave the Taliban $40 million just months before 9/11. That's about a quarter of the aid that it was giving to the entire continent of Africa! As for criminalization, that's what countries do when they go to war with other countries. Criminalize the others' people on the basis of nationality, politics, religion. Duhh?

And how about those for whom a friend of a friend is the enemy?
