Well, the 1991 World Values Survey shows that the US Rs are a bit more accepting of smoking weed than Rs in most European countries (except NL). Ditto for 1981. The results (shown below) are country means of the responses on a 1-10 scale (1= never right, 10 = always right), so the higher the number the greater the acceptanace. The 1991 US mean is 1.86 - which is above all country average. Go figure.
IMHO, surveys of this kind are not worth the paper on which they are printed. People tend to give politically correct answers regardless of what they actually think or do.
