Letter to NYT on Todd Gitlin's recent editorial page piece

To the editor:
Todd Gitlin states that the 'far left' (a code word
for those who opposed the bombing campaign against
Afghanistan) was not willing to show any compassion to
victims of the 911 attacks.  I wonder if he is
referring to persons like Rosa Clark or the 911
victims family members of Peaceful Tomorrows who urged
Mr. Bush to not use war as the solution to terrorism. 
Is it too much to ask Prof. Gitlin to stick to arguing
his position instead of making baseless accusations
against those who disagree with his?
