Isn't Schmidt pretty highly regarded by historians of legal philosophy (never read 'em, just Karl Lowith's attack on him in Martin Heidegger and European Nihilism)? (I've got an academic interest in rightwing philosophy for various reasons, probably the academic training in Heidegger and others.)
