If you believed what's said in many LBO-talk posts about (1) "the left" and (2) the relation between American workers and the US empire, you would conclude, "leftists in general (except a few precious souls who courageously speak up about the crimes of the left) are venal, and American workers benefit from and knowingly support the crimes of the US power elite." It's possible that those who write such posts don't really believe what they are saying, just venting spleen, but, still, such a profusion of expressions of contempt for leftists and American workers doesn't bode well.
I'd rather go with Max Elbaum and other actually existing leftists who are doing what they can (unlike "the left" of LBO-talk imagination). -- Yoshie
