Doesn't have to be. No one has come close to Marx in analyzing the workings of capitalism as a broad social system. Even the stuff about finance in vol. 3 of Capital and Theories of Surplus Value, though mostly unfinished and dealing with a relatively unevolved financial system, are brilliant. Of course, people treat his writings as scripture sometimes, in a very mechnical and braindead way. But it doesn't have to be.
