I am inclined to agree, but then in biology people talk about Darwinism and Darwinian biology too. I am not sure why the modern science of evolutionary biology should bear the name of its founder, any more than the tradition of scientific socialism should have to bear the name of its founder but that is apparently the way things happened to work out.

I am not sure that anyone here is making that claim. The again, I have the greatest admiration for Newton, Darwin, and Einstein, but I don't think that they were gods either.
