July 9 - Hanoi police destroy 40,780 CDs, VCDs, CDRoms, 810 videotapes,
3,000 books and six kilograms of other publications; as part of a campaign
against "poisonous cultural products." The materials had been confiscated
from 175 shops in Hanoi and surroundings since March. Ho Chi Minh City
police have destroyed 7,656 kg of banned publications, mostly pornographic
magazines and pictures and books from overseas and domestic sources. (AFP
