But Tuesday, Carter said that, since the war has begun, he would remain
quiet and express support for the troops.

By that logic, the Nurmeberg trials and principles should be judged
illegal.  The Germans did just what Herr Praesident Carter advises us to
do, shut up and stood behind the Fuehrer and the Wehrmacht after their
invaded Poland in 1939.
