Dear friends,

Many of you know by now that the Oakland Police Department violently attacked and fired upon peaceful protestors this morning at an anti-war demonstration at the Oakland Ports. You can view photographs of protestors' wounds, including massive welts from wooden bullets and concussion grenades, at: http://www.democraticunderground.com/duforum/DCForumID61/22771.html

CALL THE OAKLAND MAYOR'S OFFICE IMMEDIATELY AT: (510) 238-3141. Express your outrage and demand that Mayor Jerry Brown and the Oakland Police Department be held accountable for this incredible use of violence against peaceful protestors.

CALL THE OAKLAND POLICE DEPARTMENT COMPLAINT LINE AT: (510) 238-3161. Demand that the department immediately investigate and punish those commanders and officers responsible for this violence. Those who were present at the protest are especially encouraged to call and submit complaints.
