BICYCLE DAY

On April 19, 1943, Albert Hofmann intentionally

consumed 0.25 mg the

compound

that he had invented, LSD-25, in order to ascertain

whether or not it

was psychoactive. As the effects came on, he left his

laboratory and rode his

bicycle to his home, where he experienced the first

ever "acid trip."
