I think civilian casualties are much higher than is
currently believed. The Iraq body count site only
lists what's been reported in public media, and
there's not a lot verified yet about what happened in
Baghdad prior to and immediately after "liberation."
The carnage in other cities is also unreported, and
may never be known.
Add to that the deaths from disease, etc. caused by
lack of water, etc. (all "regrettable" we will be
told, since every effort is being made by coalition
forces to help the Iraqi people, etc.) and the final
numbers will probably be far greater than Gulf I.
But at least the Iraqis will have tasted the sweet
nectar of freedom!
