Major terrorist act prevented in Moscow An explosive device planted near a synagogue in central Moscow was defused on Sunday night. According to NTV television, a local resident saw a young man planting a packet and lighting a fuse. The witness tore a fuse away and called the police. The police arrived quickly and organized the evacuation of citizens of a nearby 16-story apartment building. The people had to spend several hours in the street while demolition experts defused the explosive device.
According to the police, a composite picture of the criminal has been made. They say the explosive device was planted by a young man of about 18 years, with a short haircut, dressed in a black jacket.
